DURAN® YOUTILITY wins prestigious silver IDEA® in the 2014 International Design Excellence Awards
DURAN Group has won a silver IDEA® in the 2014 competition organised by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) for the user-friendly YOUTILITY Laboratory Bottle System. This is the 3rd product design award won by DURAN® YOUTILITY in addition to the Red Dot and iF awards.
Now in its 34th year, the International Design Excellence Awards program (IDEA®) is regarded as one of the most foremost design competitions in America with its scope and influence reaching far beyond the USA. For the 2014 competition there were more than 2000 entries, and the new DURAN® YOUTILITY laboratory bottle system, entered in the medical and scientific products category, was just one of 58 products to be awarded silver. The jury evaluated the entries on aspects of industrial design excellence that included: innovation; benefits to the user and client; and sustainability as well as the design’s visual appeal. The DURAN® YOUTILITY system excelled in many of these aspects and represents a new generation of user-friendly glass laboratory bottles. As well as the ergonomically shaped glass bottles, the YOUTILITY system incorporates many new innovative features to improve handling, labelling, sample identification, and ease of use, to help to make laboratory work easier, safer, and more fun.
IDSA will formally award the 2014 IDEA® winners at the International Conference in Austin Texas, on Aug. 13, 2014. The 176 winners along with the other 514 finalists were published on idsa.org.
